About Dorcas Humanitarian Works
Dorcas is an international Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to serving vulnerable
communities in Cameroon. Guided by faith and compassion, Dorcas responds to urgent needs
while fostering long-term, sustainable development. The organization works across key sectors
such as education, water, sanitation, shelter, and community empowerment, with a strong focus
on reducing poverty and uplifting marginalized groups through education.
Our Core Initiatives
The humanitarian foundation OEUVRES HUMANITAIRES DORCAS provides care and
support for the school system, specifically serving poor, abandoned children and orphans. Our
work includes:
Educational Support: Equipping teachers and education facilitators to teach others.
Safe Havens: Creating shelters for widowed women, orphans, and abandoned children.
Empowerment: Promoting job-creating activities to help single mothers and those
suffering from sexually transmitted diseases.
Sustainability: Creating community kitchens and income-generating activities to support
social works.
Inclusion: Organizing cultural events for the benefit of disabled and underprivileged
people.
Care Facilities: Encouraging the creation of retirement homes and nurseries for disabled
people.
Medical Assistance: Providing healthcare support to sick, poor, or unemployed people.
Vocational Training: Creating training centers for small trade businesses to provide
support for socially disadvantaged people.
Elderly Care: Providing multifaceted assistance to elderly people.
Sustainable Livelihoods
To break the cycle of poverty, Dorcas invests in long-term solutions through vocational training,
business development programs, and women’s education to enable individuals to build self-
sustaining sources of income.
Community-Based Programs
The organization enhances community resilience through initiatives that expand access to clean
water and sanitation (WASH), create social safety nets, and support entrepreneurship and local
development.
